Blossom For Children
Funky Stuff For Children With Needs
I love to promote fab things for those of us with illnesses and disabilities … and there aren’t tons of fab things about when it comes to product generally.
However, a few small niche organisations do buck the general trend and Blossom For Children: Funky Stuff For Children With Needs looks like one of these. They say:
You may have noticed that we’re not your run-of-the-mill online shop. That’s because we exist for two reasons:
1) To generate income for our parent charity, Tree of Hope. The Tree of Hope offers hope to the families of sick children in the UK who need specialist medical surgery, treatment, therapy and equipment in order to free them from suffering, giving a better quality to their young lives.
2) To help the families and friends of children with medical needs to find good quality, affordable and attractive ‘stuff’ to help make their lives brighter, nicer and easier. We think that just because they’ve got an illness or disability they shouldn’t have to put up with ugly products designed for grown-ups. We aim to offer products that are harder to find in the UK, at a price that’s fair, in a way that’s sustainable.
So we sell stuff to make money that all directly benefits children in the UK who need our support. We call ourselves a ‘social enterprise’ which is a fancy way of saying we do business to do good. What’s not to love?
Sounds all good, right? Great objectives. Their site is nice, bright and easy to use.
Do go across, take a look, browse and buy. Pass the good news on. Make a donation.
And don’t forget to let me know what you think of the site, service and product. Enjoy.
